Dabolim Airport director Gagan Malik said that the domestic market forms a major part of the tourists arriving in the state. Malik said that the passenger footfall at Dabolim airport is increasing steadily. “On December 27, Dabolim airport handled nearly 22,000 passengers with a record of handling 72 flights. He said that a similar trend was witnessed on December 28 and it is expected to continue in the coming days due to the festivities”.

He said that a new sector will connect Goa very soon. “Many sectors were added to Goa during the COVID-19 pandemic. Reputations of old sectors prevailed and different airlines have added new sectors and will continue to add in the near future,” Malik said.

Malik said that the air bubble arrangements were extended till March 2021. “Air Arabia has taken slots from us in the air bubble and the Airports Authority of India (AA I) has approved slots to them, except the UK. The flights coming from the Middle East will be operating,” said Malik.

The airport director stated that in view of the Christmas and New Year celebrations, the airport was decorated and illuminated. “We adopt all the SOPs while handling passengers at the airport. People are waiting to come to Goa. Malik said that Goa remains safe, as it was.
